What is Kohiko Mai?
Kohiko Mai is designed for learners in Years 7-13 who have not benefited from other support programmes and are at risk of leaving school without engaging in further education, employment, or training. Built on Universal Design for Learning principles, Kohiko Mai fits any school context – whether full primary, intermediate, middle, or secondary school.
This school-owned initiative allows each kura to develop its unique Kohiko Mai programme, supported by our skilled consultants, to re-engage learners during these crucial formative years.
Why the name Kohiko Mai?
"Kohiko" means to flash or twinkle, symbolising how learners shine when they grasp new knowledge. Kohiko Mai invites learners to shine and disrupts their current path, providing new opportunities for growth and innovation.
