National Mathematics Lead, Ministry of Education (New Zealand)
Janine is the National Mathematics Lead for the Ministry of Education. In this role, she designs and develops Professional Learning and Development (PLD) programmes for teachers, which are delivered nationwide. Janine also creates and leads training for facilitators who implement these PLD programmes. Her work is closely linked to the current update of the New Zealand mathematics curriculum, ensuring that educators are well-supported in aligning their teaching practices with the latest curriculum developments, promoting high-quality mathematics education across the country.
Janine lives in Wellington with her husband and niece, two Exotic Persians (aka “grumpy cat”) Razzle and Rosie, and British Bulldog, Harlow. Janine loves international travel adventures, great coffee, and an unhealthy obsession with cacti.
