Jacqui Clayton
Based in Blenheim, Jacqui works as an education consultant throughout the top of the South Island, including Marlborough, Nelson, Tasman, and Buller.
Jacqui works with schools in the following areas:

teaching as inquiry
mentoring school leaders and leadership teams
literacy
effective and innovative teaching and learning practices
strategic thinking and planning
Jacqui has extensive experience in facilitating professional development, particularly in leadership and assessment. She previously specialised in literacy as part of the Literacy Professional Development Project, working with Helen Timperley on effective professional learning and practice analysis. She has also been a teacher, principal, and lecturer at Dunedin College of Education.
Jacqui supports schools in strategic planning and developing systems that improve teaching and learning. She helps leaders and teachers engage in inquiry-based conversations to build adaptive expertise.
With a deep understanding of effective pedagogy, especially in reading and writing, Jacqui excels at helping schools focus on learners by fostering an inquiry mindset and purposeful use of assessments. She shares her knowledge of key resources and research to strengthen pedagogy and understanding.
Outside work, Jacqui loves reading, going to the movies, fitting in gym sessions when she can, catching up with friends, and visiting family in the UK.
