Dr Irene Andersen
Irene is an experienced educator who has been a facilitator since 2005. She has worked in several areas including assessment for learning, secondary literacy, developing middle leadership and retraining teachers.
Irene’s areas of expertise are:

models of inquiry linked to NZ Curriculum
curriculum design
leading change
collecting and using data, including student voice
Before becoming a facilitator, Irene held senior and middle leadership positions in an Auckland secondary school. She completed a doctorate of Education in 2014. Her thesis focused on improving the quality of feedback/feed forward to teachers after classroom observations.
Irene is skilled at listening carefully to leaders and teachers and tailoring professional development with them to meet the needs of their schools.
Irene is an avid reader and she also loves gardening.
