Supporting English language learners with NCEA literacy requirements

From the English Language Learning Progressions to foundational literacy – the significant learning that cannot be left to chance.

This workshop will discuss the challenges and opportunities of NCEA Literacy co-requisites for English language learners. It will consider the big ideas of the literacy matrix and how teachers can effectively support English language learners to develop their reading and writing skills in the context of foundational literacy. It will also consider how to prepare ELLs for the NZQA Common Assessment Activities.
