This is complimentary PLD for schools adopting Oxford University Press’s Mathematics and Statistics for Aotearoa New Zealand

In this half-day session, specialist facilitators will focus on helping you leverage the pedagogy of the Oxford programme to target your teaching effectively, accelerate achievement, and enable all students to become confident, capable mathematicians. You will leave with confidence in your new resources and your understanding of the curriculum essentials. Optional online follow-up drop-in sessions in Terms 2-4 will provide an extra opportunity to reconnect with a facilitator and discuss any outstanding queries.

Session objectives:

  • understand the principles and benefits of the mastery approach within

  • explore Mathematics and Statistics for Aotearoa New Zealand through the lens of the refreshed NZ Mathematics curriculum including:

- organising instruction to reduce cognitive load

- using assessment data and observation to inform explicit teaching

- leveraging rich tasks and communication with students to enhance student motivation

- fostering a positive relationship with maths in all students

  • delve into the practical strategies offered for targeting teaching.

For teachers and leaders of schools that have chosen the Oxford University Press’s Mathematics and Statistics for Aotearoa New Zealand.

To ensure maximum participation there is an attendance limit of three teachers per school. If you are unable to secure a place, there are two online dates, or an option to pay for Evaluation Associates to come to your school and work directly with your team.
