Leading by Learning: Introductory workshop

Develop your leadership capabilities with Leading by Learning.

  • Are you a team leader, a school leader, or a leader of a network of schools?

  • Are you struggling to make significant progress on problems of practice?

  • Is something preventing you and your colleagues from achieving your improvement goals?

Then the Leading by Learning: Introductory workshop is for you.

You will use Leading by Learning to:

  • be more effective in problem-solving conversations and meetings

  • reduce the hard-to-discuss issues by building trust

  • make greater progress in collaboratively solving problems of teaching and learning.

What is Leading by Learning?

Leading by Learning is both a theory and practice of effective, ethical educational leadership that enables you to make significant progress on the problems of practice that prevent you or your colleagues from achieving improvement goals.

Leading by Learning is the evolution of the seminal work of Argyris and Schön, whose 30-year research programme described why leaders struggled to create the organisational and interpersonal cultures that build trust, honesty, and collective commitment to solve important problems.

Viviane Robinson, widely known in New Zealand and internationally for her programme of research and development in educational leadership, has partnered with Evaluation Associates | Te Huinga Kākākura Mātauranga to develop Leading by Learning. Through working with organisations and schools internationally and in Aotearoa New Zealand, we are continually evolving Leading by Learning.

Attend our two-day introductory Leading by Learning workshop; develop knowledge and increase understanding of the theory and practice of being learning-focused (rather than control focused).

Your investment (cost and time)

Registrations are $1100 + GST per person. A 10% discount applies for three or more educators from the same school or kura.

This includes:

  • two 30-minute coaching sessions at a time convenient for you after the workshop

  • a one-year subscription to the Leading by Learning online hub (a value of $200!)
