NCEA co-requisite transformation pathway
Three years. Whole-school change. Lasting success.
Aromatawai | Literacy & numeracy readiness for NCEA
Every ākonga deserves the opportunity to achieve the NCEA literacy and numeracy corequisites. We help secondary schools and kura build a clear, schoolwide pathway so more learners are ready, confident and successful.
How we help
Our three-year pathway offers structured, evidence-based support that grows with your school:
Year 1 – Emerging
Establish shared understanding, clarify baseline data, and build confidence in teaching and assessing reading, writing & numeracy within and across subject areas.
Focus: evidence, clarity, and staff capability.
Year 2 – Integrating
Strengthen cross-curricular effectiveness and coherence through high quality teaching, shared tools, system alignment, and development of consistent feedback practices.
Focus: targeted high-quality teaching, planning and assessment integration, dependable moderation, collaborative leadership.
Year 3 – Embedding
Embed sustainable practices and documentation - monitoring processes, targeted intervention pathways, moderation and ongoing review processes - so your school is confident and self-sustaining beyond external support.
Focus: high quality teaching and learning, sustainable schoolwide monitoring systems, schoolwide alignment, impact evaluation.
Investment: $21,060 + GST per year (plus travel)
Total three-year investment: $63,180 + GST (plus travel)

Our three-year pathway
Sustainable change takes time, clarity, and consistent practice across your school. Each step of this pathway builds the shared understanding, systems, and capability needed for long-term success with the NCEA co-requisites.
Use our student and teacher voice questionnaires to identify your best starting point for sustainable change.
