Steve Bovaird
Steve is a principal advisor for secondary schools in Auckland and Te Tai Tokerau. He works primarily with beginning principals to support them as they grow into their role. This will be tailored to needs and delivered in a timely manner, involving both management and leadership support as identified by each principal.
Steve has recently retired after 15 years as a Principal of Lynfield College in Central Auckland. His experience in education has included:
leading Lynfield College, after a background in social science teaching
on the Executive of ASSPA for 13 years
chairperson of ASSPA in 2009-10
membership of SPANZ since 1997
a Woolf Fisher Fellowship in 2015
helping to establish the Polyfest Trust in 2010, and chairing the Trust from 2010 – 2015
secondment as Acting Principal to support Papakura High, in the second half of 2015, prior to their appointing a new Principal for 2016
membership of the Mt Roskill Principals’ cluster
strong support for the establishment of the Lynfield Community of Learning I Kāhui Ako
leading the introduction of BYOD at Lynfield College.
Steve lives in Central Auckland with his wife Jeannie.
