Faith McCracken

Education Writer - Publications

Faith is based in Wellington and is delighted to be part of the Publications team. What drives her is a commitment to grow where she is planted and to serve where she is able.

She holds the education writer position and brings to her role:

  • experience editing and proofreading

  • crafting writing to meet audience and purpose

  • understanding of grammar, diction, and rhetoric

  • mahi in detail-focused and quality-driven environments

  • desire to contribute to and learn from new opportunities.

Faith has years of experience teaching secondary schools in New Zealand, the Cook Islands, and the United States. She has mentored training teachers, participated in Te Kotahitanga and Restorative Justice practices, and undertaken outdoor education leadership roles. For many years, she was a member of the SAP (Student Assistance Program) Team, which is a small group of trained teachers, senior managers, and support staff who work with at-risk students.

In 2020 she earned a Post-graduate Diploma in Publishing (Whitireia). She holds a Master of Science in Education (University of New Hampshire) and a Bachelor of Arts in English (Franklin & Marshall College).

A self-confessed word nerd, Faith collects puns and oxymorons. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with family, tramping with her hoa tāne, taking photographs, and volunteering at the SPCA.
